Nonso Diobi
“Well, I don’t want to delve into it because it is a lifetime contract. Some that rushed into it are regretting now, because our ladies of nowadays are just nothing to write home about, especially the one that have quest for material things. It surprises some people when I say I’m single but that is just the truth because I don’t want to make the same mistakes as others.”
Nonso said this during an interview with Ynaija in November 14, 2014. The prolific actor, who has over 60 movies to his name, has remained single despite being linked with several women in and outside his profession.
Uti Nwachukwu
“I don’t know. I guess whenever God says I am going to get married, I will get married. You will know when it is time but I haven’t met anyone that will make me say, ‘I want to spend the rest of my life with you’. I have met people that made me feel comfortable here and now but when you look at it from the long-term perspective, I am not moved yet. When I meet my wife I will know. I am extremely selective and my standards are sometimes unrealistically high. With the kind of mother and sisters I have, I don’t have a choice but to set my standards high. My sisters have made wonderful wives, so it’s only right that I don’t settle for less.”
Pat Attah
“Marriage is a life-long commitment and a man has to prepare adequately for it. Definitely, I will get married as soon as I’m ready. In marriage, if you rush in, you will rush out. I will get married, but I’m not in a hurry or under any pressure to do that. But don’t be surprised if it happens this year.”
This was what Pat said in an earlier interview. Pat Attah is one of the pioneers of the Nigerian movie industry. The Glamour Girls actor, who is closing in on 40, is yet to settle down.
John Njamah
“I don’t know when I’m getting married, but quite soon.” John told Wadup.com in February, 2014.
The actor is still single. Though he does not look it, John is fast approaching 40. The Fuji House of Commotion actor, easily recognised with his dreadlocks, still lives in his family house in Festac with his siblings.
Vincent Nnamdi Opurum
“I want a humble, respectful woman who listens to me irrespective of my ideas, not someone who nags. I like prayerful women. I adore a woman who is highly supportive of my career. She must be conservative, not an extravagant woman, because there is no way you can survive that way. It doesn’t mean she wouldn’t take care of her needs, as every woman wants to look good, but she has to be wise in spending. You don’t need to spend above your income.
“Though it doesn’t mean that I wouldn’t take care of my responsibilities at home, while I am spending as the head of the home, the woman should be mindful of her spending. It should be that I build the home, while she takes care
of it, as a wife. So, she must be knowledgeable and focused,” Vincent told Entertainment Gist in 2013.
The Imo State-born actor is definitely certain about what he wants in a woman. Though in his late 30s, the Take My Wife actor is still single.
Fredrick Nnaemaka Leonard
“I am thinking, not searching. I am with a nice lady who appreciates God in her life. I was attracted by her moral standards. Though no one is perfect, I will say that she is better than the rest I have come across.
“Marriage is no competition. Certain things have to be put in place before you can think of marriage. So, I am still working on it,” Fredrick said in an interview with Daily Sun in March, 2014
Born in Lagos, the Anambra State actor, who once said female fans proposed marriage to him often, seem satisfied with his pick. But some of his concerned fans are wondering why he is yet to quit bachelorhood.
Kalu Ikeagwu
“Marriage is very important to me. I have come to terms with the fact that marriage is the most important institution from God. And I take that very seriously. Ultimately, I would like my relationship with my wife to be like that between God and the church.
“I like a woman with a great sense of humour, that’s very important to me. And, of course, she has to be very attractive and intelligent. And above everything else, she should have a close relationship with God. That’s exactly why I am yet to get married. I want to be successful in my marriage just as I am in my career.”
Kalu Ikeagwu, who said the above in October 2014, is, perhaps, one of the oldest Nollywood bachelors. In his early 40s, the British-Nigerian and “The Wrong Woman” actor does not seem to flinch in his standards for marriage.
Osita Iheme (PawPaw)
“The challenge is that I do not know whom to marry. I’m not really searching. Of course, I have many female friends and fans, some of them intimate, but picking the person I will spend the rest of my life with is what is delaying my settling down. God will help me decide soon, because with Him, all things are possible. I know I will be getting married some day. It could even be tomorrow, this month or even next month.”
In 2012, Osita’s ‘twin brother’, Chinedu Ihedieze alias Aki, left the bachelor’s club. Since then, PawPaw, who celebrated his 34th birthday.
on February 2014, has been talking about settling down. Despite the rumour of his relationship with several women, the Enugu born actor is waiting on God.
James Ikechukwu “Jim Iyke” Esomugha
“Women are like the apples on the trees, the best ones are on the top of the trees. The men don’t want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and don’t want to get hurt. Instead, they get the cold manipulating easier climbs. So, the apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality they are amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who’s brave enough to climb all the way to the top because they value quality away the spotlight.”
Nollywood bad boy, Jim Iyke, wrote on his Instagram page in August 13, 2014. The actor, who will clock 39 in September, has been linked with Ghanaian actress, Nadia Buari, since January 2014. Despite reportedly proposing to her with a six-carat diamond ring in March 2014, Jim hasn’t gone any further.
Charles “Billion” Pius
“I do not believe so much in the notion of a perfect wife or woman. But I can tell you that I have found all I want in a woman, in the woman I am engaged to. She is understanding, which is where beauty lies. Physical beauty has been overrated. Godliness, intelligence, caring are other essential attributes of an understanding woman.” Billion told the Nigerian Tribune in 2014
The talented Nollywood star of Edo State origin, who came into limelight chiefly through his role in the TV series Tinsel, is reportedly engaged to a colleague, Mimi Ojirekwe. The dreadlock wearing actor has not announced a wedding date yet.
