To many  Nigerian movie stars, and  the creative industry at large, the Valentine Day,  is not entirely  for shooting a new movie, reading a script or composing a new song. While it was romantic for some stepping out with their lovers and kids to cinemas, eateries and upscale restaurants for dinners,  some went to exotic locations to savour the V-Day moment with their special ones, and for few others it is their birthdays, wedding anniversary or work day.

Omoni Oboli: “There is nothing I’m doing personally.I’m just chilling, spending good time with my family. My husband and I would go out together later in the day,”  said star actress, Omoni Oboli, a  few hours after she uploaded her picture with a bouquet of flowers and  an exotic card from her optometrist’s hubby, Nnamdi.


Davido: The ‘Aye’ singer stormed the City Mall, Ikeja, Lagos for the activation of the much advertised Close-Up’s  Cupid game,  an engagement platform created by Close-up for young adults to connect and show that special someone how much they care, especially at this  Valentine. Trust, Davido’s’ fans they came in hundreds looking  young, bold and  confident!


Funke Akindele: Totally overwhelmed with the production of her much-anticipated and star- studded TV soap, Jenifa’s’Diary. Funke called it a wrap today’s’ evening. “I have been filming all day and for the past 17 days. I’m quite delighted that we wrapped this evening. It’s’ all for you fans and equally commendable was the support and love of these wonderful stars on set- Alex Ekubo, Banky W,  Waje, Ameachi Muonagor, Wunmi Obe, Ali Nuhu, S*Xy Steel. Love you all and Happy Val to all Jenifa’s fans.”


Segun Arinze: ” Wow, it’s been a busy day. Had a  few pre-production loose ends to tighten up. Then, in the evening will be dinning out with my lovely beautiful wife. Don’t ask me where? Though Segun was not ready to disclose the beautiful gift that his lovely wife gave him, he said ” that was the first thing in the morning.”


Mercy Johnson: ‘All today means to me is God, you and your kids…. was part of the statement of love from favourite actress, Mercy Johnson to her hubby, Prinve Odianonse Okojie. Snuggling up to him in their picture on Instagram, love cannot be better defined and expressed.

Bob Manuel-Udokwu: I’m really not celebrating Val’s Day because I lost a very dear cousin. He was buried yesterday and the funeral ceremonies continued today.

SHANK:  “I’m working today, got into Enugu for a gig. But normally Valentine’s Day is like every other day for me, cos I don’t have to wait for this day to exchange gifts or show people I love them.”

Julius Agwu: I was supposed to host my annual Valentine show today : Festival Of Love but as a patriotic Nigerian I moved the event due to the General Elections initially slated for today, February 14.  Only to be disappointed by the postponement! Nevertheless, I will be part of the Valentine’4 dinner with Buhari tonight.”   Julius The Genius may not get his Val gift soon, his lovable wife, Ebere is faraway in the United States of America.


Jimmy Jatt: For avant garde disc jockey, Jimmy Jatt,  it is another working day.  Jimmy is  the official deejay at this Saturday’s‘ dinner  LOVE BUHARI, LOVE  NIGERIA with the All Progressive’s  Congress (APC) Presidential flagbearer, Gen. Mohammadu Buhari at The Intercontinental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.


Rita Dominic: ‘The Meeting’ star actress, surely is soaked in the Lover’s’ day fun.  She said her Valentine is treating her to a lovely dinner.  “We will watch a movie afterwards,” she quipped.”


Muyiwa Ademola: ” Well, it’s all about Love. I’m presently out at the cinema with my wife and kids.  Later, today after dropping the kids at home, the star actor who was stormed by fans at the cinema promised his wife a good outing: “I would treat my wife to a special dinner. Love is  in the air..” He also acknowledged a gift of a cologne and a wristwatch from his wife exchanged with flowers and beads from him.



Tamara Eteimo: It has been a busy time in the kitchen  for the Next Movie Star  winner who has climbed to fame with the  short  drama,  Mama Bomboy Mama,  cooking her favourite meal and was all out to give herself a treat.  Showing love is an every day affair as far as I’m concerned. I show love to my family, friends and fans everyday. However, I decided to give myself a treat today. She surely did from these pictures of her meal. Did you say, Yummy?




Foluke Daramola: It’s’ a few hours to Cobweb’s’actress, Foluke Daramola’s’ birthday and wedding anniversary, February 15 to be precise.  Preparations, she said,  are in top gear to host a group of friends to an all white  garden party on Sunday by her and hubby, Kayode Salako.


Faithia Balogun: “My kids are  my Val. So we are  having fun,”  she said. Faithia looking respledent with kids was sighted at the Ikeja cinema before they moved to the Kiddies’ Park, Ikeja. Like she said,  it’s’ being  fun all the way.”



Toyin Aimakhu: It is love renewed for favourite actress, Toyin Aimakhu. Her hubby, Adeniyi  Johnson went on a spending binge and bought her a  Tomato-red  Toyota Camry which she flaunted on her Instagram.
