There is fire on the mountain of Akwa Ibom Entertainers Movement (AKEM); the official support group comprising of Entertainers for the PDP guber candidate: Mr. Udom Emmanuel.
The latest, which happens to be news worthy, broke out on Saturday, February 21st 2015, after Comedian Sir James was reported involve in a brawl with gospel artiste- Godfada at Monty Suites-Uyo, during a meeting arranged to reconcile warring factions fighting for their financial entitlements.
It could be recalled that a group of entertainers were brought together and mobilized to follow Mr. Udom Emmanuel through out his campaign across Local Governments in the state.
The division amongst the entertainers is rising from several financial misappropriation by the exco and some members of the group in the course of the discharge of their duties.
Initially, Sir Monday Uko (Akwa Ibom state Commissioner for Youths & Sport and Chairman Udom/Moses Campaign Mobilization Committee) had settled a rift between some members who visited a top politician and club owner, hereby parting way with some money (amounting in millions) which a few members decided to share only among the entertainers there present.
Accusing fingers have been pointed at the likes of Nollywood actress Ini Ikpe who is the President of the group, Bishop Okon Lagos, Moses Armstrong, MC Utang Akwa Ibom and Godfada.
The story is still unfolding, but some entertainers have refused to speak on the matter.
