Most rich Nigerian parents go all out on their children like "If you don't become what I want you to become, I will not pay your school fees, I will freeze your account, I will disown you..."
Dear Parents, God has a purpose for every human he sends to earth, so God's wish is principal not your own wish. Hence, yours is to study and nurture the God gifted talents in your children and support them to become what they ought to be.
I guess one of the reason we have fakes, quacks and half-baked services around is simply because these people are not operating under God's will but under their Parent's forced will. They are forced to study or do what they are not naturally gifted in, that is why they don't discharge their services with passion or they struggle to do it.
All we hear from a typical Nigerian Parent is, I want my child to become a Doctor, an Engineer, and a Lawyer. Are these the only occupations??? What of being a Pastor, a Footballer, a Comedian, a Musician, an Actor, a Pilot, a Teacher, a Fashion designer, a Business man, a Blogger, a Computer expert, a farmer etc
Now, as earlier said, if the child refuses to do your will, you begin to frustrate them by denying them your support.
Note, it's not about your will, it's about God's will. My sincere question to you is this, "Where you forced to do what you are succeeding in today? Did u succeed on your own or your parents or someone out there supported you to be on your feet?
We learnt The Dangote we know today was being supported by his uncle to start his business. The money we heard was quite small but because it was his natural talent to do business, that is why he is a success today.
Hence, Parents please stop forcing or frustrating your children or other people's children to become what you want, instead support them to become what they are naturally gifted in because not everybody must become a doctor, lawyer or Engineer.
That's my sincere opinion.
