Nigeria’s Flying Eagles, today, crashed out
of the 2017 AFCON Under -20 finals following a stunning unexpected
defeat by their Sudanese opponents at the Teslim Balogun Stadium,
Surulere, Lagos.
The Flying Eagles had won the first leg encounter 2-1 in Khartoum, Sudan a fortnight ago and playing in front of the Lagos fans, they failed to prove to be the better team with a 4-3 defeat
Samuel Chukwueze, who was a thorn in the flesh of the Sudanese defence, shot the Flying Eagles ahead in the first quarter of the match with a stunning shot from the edge of the visitors’ penalty area that beat goalkeeper Isgag Adam Abdalla hands down. Chukwueze had initiated the move a few metres from the centre circle evading three opposing players before unleashing the shot.
