SPORT: QPR Hoping To Sign Yakubu Aiyegbeni in January

Queens Park Rangers are contemplating making a January move for veteran front man Yakubu Aiyegbeni, according to reports back in the striker's homeland.
Harry Redknapp knows the Nigerian international's qualities from their time working together at Portsmouth and he is said to be keen on a reunion at Loftus Road.
Yakubu has fallen out of favour at Qatari side Al Rayyan and is believed to be keen on a move away.
During his previous time in the Premier League, the target-man centre-forward boasted an impressive scoring record and Redknapp apparently believes he could take some of the pressure off Charlie Austin.
Austin has scored over half of QPR's total league goals so far this campaign and the R's are known to want a goalscorer in January.
Redknapp has confirmed that he will not have masses of funds to spend, but Yakubu could represent a cheap alternative.
The 32-year-old will still feel that he has a lot to offer should an English club take a chance on him and his experience of the league could prove crucial.
QPR are fighting against the drop and increasing their attacking threat is likely to be pivotal in keeping them above the bottom three.
The club have already been linked with the likes of Jermain Defoe, Peter Crouch and Robbie Keane, but it appears that Yakubu could also be on Redknapp's wishlist in the new year.
Would Yakubu be a good buy for QPR?
