Currently undefeated professional and five-division world champion boxer Floyd Mayweather is literally putting his money where his mouth is ahead of his May 2nd fight against Manny Pacquiao.
TMZ report that Mayweather pays his New York dentist Dr Lee Gause $US26,000 ($33,000) to make each of his mouthguards just the way he likes them. These custom gumshields include gold flakes, diamonds and $100 bills, but most importantly, he claims the guards help him "breathe better".
According to TMZ, Dr. Guase flies out to Vegas to customise the fit for the man nicknamed 'Money'.
"My career's gone on 19 years and I've been able to preserve my smile." Mayweather told TMZ.
Fans of the two-time Ring magazine Fighter of the Year can also protect their pearlies just like the champion - Dr. Gause's is selling Mayweather-branded mouth guards on his website for a relatively reasonable $US230 ($290).
