Hollyood celeb Lynn Whitfield joined other Nollywood stars including Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Kunle Afolayan, Emem Isong, Chioma Chukwuka, O.C Ukeje, Patience Uzokwor, Faithia Balogun, Kingsley Ogoro, Paul Okoli, Doris Simon, Eniola Badmus, and Lydia Forson, who is also an AMAA brand ambassador in celebration of African Cinema.
The 2015 AMAA Jury chaired by the Zimbabwean, Mr. Keith Shiri announced nominations of movies from several genres from the following African countries – Nigeria, South Africa, Ethiopia, Angola and Mauritius.
Films from Nigerian filmmakers such as October 1, Cheetanah, Iyore, Dazzling Mirage topped the nominations list whileTriangle Going to America from Ethiopia, Timbuktu from Mauritius and Queen of Angola from Angola got notable recognition in various categories of the award.
The AMAA award ceremony will be holding in South Africa in September, which represents the the first time the continental awards will be taking place outside Nigeria in the 11 years of its existence.
