Wales edged Northern Ireland by 1-0 to qualify for the quarter-finals of Euro 2016.
It was a titanic battle between the two British nations but an own goal by Gareth McAuley in 75th minute gave The Dragons a historic victory over their neighbours. Wales being the favourite found it difficult to breakdown the Northern Irish team and Gareth Bale’s trademark free-kick was saved by Michael McGovernk in the 58th minute of the match.
However the Green and White Army dominance was broken down by a Gareth Bale’s quality cross meant for Robson-Kanu but was turned in by McAuley into his own net. The Dragons will now meet the winner of Hungary and Belgium in the quarter-final stage of the competition.
