The vesper by crave is advertised as “the world’s first luxurious rechargeable vibrator necklace.” It is a small vibrator that doubles as a pendant with a minimalist, almost industrial design- it’s a solid stainless steel pendant with a nickel-free plated cap, and it comes in three colours, silver, rose-gold, and 24 KT gold-plated with matching stainless steel chain.

The nail-shaped pendant/ vibrator is waterproof and 3.8 inches long with low, medium and high vibrating setting. It is USB rechargeable. Crave says it’s “whisper quiet,” whether it’s on low, medium, or high.

‘As a necklace, it has sleek and minimal lines that enable this product to be both a subtle fashion statement as well as a statement piece, depending on your mood and outfit,’ says designer Ti Chang, who founded the company with entrepreneur Michael Topolovac.

During an interview with Fortune, in 2013, Ms Chang disclosed that, her inspiration for ‘foreplay jewelry’ was born when she saw a woman wearing a vibrator as a necklace in New York.

‘It wasn’t a Rabbit or anything nuts like that, it was super sleek and stainless steel, and was probably four inches long and smaller in diameter than a dime,’

She added: ‘She was an elegant woman. She carried herself very well, and I completely admired the fact that it was so nonchalant. I think it would be great if one day our culture could get that way about sexuality for women.

Her company has other sex-toy jewelry under its belt. Last year they launched the Droplet, a 43-inch stainless-steel necklace that retail at around $100 and can be slipped underneath clothes for so-called “discreet play,” and a pair of handcuffs that double as a bracelet.

Proudly displaying your instrument of pleasure for everyone to see is not for everyone and could be perceived as tacky than classy considering where it has been. Public display of vibrators might be pushing moral boundaries a tad too far but for those sexually liberated women out there, the vesper is a beautiful gadget.
