If the report on gongnews.net is anything to by, then the Nigeria Football Federation may have just deceived Nigerians. According to media outfit, the young man paraded and interviewed as late Stephen Keshi first son is not the former Super Eagles coach’s son. The gongnews.net is reporting that the young man is Femi Okubule and he is one of the children born out of wedlock to celebrated Fifa referee, Chief Festus Okubule.

Femi’s mother is known by the name Susan, who is the elder of Keshi’s late wife, Catherine. It was gathered that the real Stephen Keshi Jnr is an events producer in Atlanta, who looks so much like his father.

The report also suggest that Femi’s mother is related to Keshi by marriage. A source disclosed to the media outfit that Femi was thrown up as Keshi’s son in collaboration with Keshi’s wife’s family who may have seen the burial process as an opportunity to make some fortunes. Hence, using Femi to impersonate as Keshi’s son was meant to be an assurance that everything that was to come will pass through him to them.

On who the real Stephen Keshi Jr is, a source said that Femi is actually Keshi’s adopted son and will be accorded all rights due him. “His real names we know, but we have no problem with him, he will take part in all rights due and we pray that we should not drag controversy into the burial of a great man like Keshi,” the source said. However, NigerDeltaEnt.com fact check have shown that Femi may likely be an adopted son of Keshi as claimed by the aforementioned source. This follows his appearance at late Catherine Keshi’s burial in December 2015.
