Shooting Stars beat Enyimba in Ibadan (NPFL Week 22 results)

– Reigning NPFL champions Enyimba were defeated in Ibadan by Shooting Stars 
– Wikki Tourists are still topping the NPFL standings after forcing Heartland to a barren draw in Owerri 
 
Here are the results and reports for NPFL week 22 games: 
 
Shooting Stars 1-0 Enyimba 
For close to 70 minutes, the heart of all the 3SC fans were not at rest as they were scared of what Enyimba could do after Ibrahim Ajani had put them in front in the 23rd minute, but Ajani’s goal was enough for the Oluyole Warriors to get the three points.

Enyimba tried all their best to level up, but their best was not enough to save them from defeat. 
 
 
Heartland 0-0 Wikki Tourists 
Wikki Tourists of Bauchi were impressive in this tie as they forced the Naze Millionaires to a barren draw in Owerri. The point Wikki Tourists earned in Owerri helped them to maintain their leadership position on the NPFL standings with 38 points. 
 
 
Plateau United 2-0 Enugu Rangers 
Joshua Obaje opened the scoring for United in the 51st minute, and it was Kelechi John that scored the second and winning goal for the hosts in the 62nd minute. 
 
 
Sunshine Stars 1-0 Lobi Stars 
Okiki Afolabi was the hero for Sunshine Stars as his 88th minute goal gave the Akure Gunners the maximum three points. Lobi Stars were on the verge of getting a point in this tie before Afolabi’s goal at the death condemned them to a defeat in Akure. 
 
 
Nasarawa United 4-2 FC Ifeanyi Ubah 
Nasarawa United made life difficult for their visitors in as they pipped them 4-2. Esoso Igbinoba got a brace for United, while Tayo Fabiyi and Abdulrahman Bashir netted a goal each for the hosts to win the match. 
 
 
Ikorodu United 1-1 Akwa United 
Ikorodu United continued their lacklustre performance at home this season as Michael Okoyoh’s goal in the 78th minute save them from losing this tie in Lagos. Cyril Olisema opened the scoring for the visitors in the 50th minute, but they could not hold on to their lead as the hosts equalised late on. 
 
 
Kano Pillars 2-2 Warri Wolves 
Pillars would have themselves to blame for sharing the points with Warri Wolves in this tie. Rabiu Ali put Pillars in front in the 26th minute, but Shedrack Ogbu levelled up for Wolves in the 46th minute.
Striker Gambo Mohammed restored the lead for the Sai Masugida in the 54th minute before Shedrack Ogbu scored again in the 81st minute as Wolves leaves Kano with a deserved point. 
 
 
Rivers United 4-1 MFM FC
Rivers United would have gone to the top of the NPFL standings had it mean Wikki lost at Heartland after beating Mountain of Fire 4-1 in Port Harcourt. Guy Kuemian, Bernard Ovoke and Yusuf Jayeiola were the goalscorers for the Port Harcourt landlords. Austine Ogunye got the consolation for the church boys in the 29th minute. 
 
 
El-Kanemi Warriors 2-0 Abia Warriors 
The warriors have won all their games played in Maiduguri this season as Kingsley Wei and Hussain Bata scored for the hosts in the 37th and 64th minute respectively to condemn Abia Warriors to another defeat.
