The Paradise Music Festival and Awards 2016 (Season 3) was unveiled to
entertainment industry stakeholders in Calabar on Wednesday, 18th May
2016 amidst high expectation.
The ambience at the James Henshaw Foundation theatre hall depicted that of suspense, perfect for an unveiling of something new, precisely the announcement of the journey to search for and celebrate achievers who have put in hardwork in their musical- entertainment career in Cross River State.
The unveiling ceremony was attended by government officials, Musical artistes and stakeholders in the entertainment industry as well as CEOs and brand managers looking forward to becoming sponsors/partners of the noble initiative.
In his welcome address, the Executive Director of the project Mr Effiom 'Trombone' Bassey was all smiles, his baby and pet project is fast growing from the most celebrated award ceremony in Cross River after two editions, to becoming a Festival which will parade the best of talents in the South- South region. He appreciated the presence of the guests saying 'You could be anywhere but you choose to be here, and because you believe in us at South Central communications, we will put in our best to deliver a world class music festival and awards targeted at promoting indigenous talents and art'.
The event was attended by Special Assistant to the Governor on Tourism Mr Eric Anderson, Special Assitant to the Governor on Admin Mr Noel Ugbong to cheer up the organizing committee, artistes, comedians, entertainment journalist, practitioners and well wishers there present.
On departure, all the guests left with a conviction that having successfully hosted the event twice, the organizers have garnered the experience and connections necessary to ignite a major leap with the third edition, heralding a private sector boost in the entertainment industry of the state.
